I'm not great with doing studies, actually! But what works best is always taking photo references of whatever you're going to draw. You can look them up online or in case of human poses or hand gestures, it works really well to just take those pictures yourself!
Additionally, have a place to keep all the useful tutorials you stumble across on the internet. Simple desktop folders work really well!
Being able to take criticism can be a massive help, but you have to pay attention of who you're taking the critiques from and monitor how you feel about it. At the beginning of your art journey, I think it's best to just practice and draw a lot and look for critiques only when you start to feel you feel stuck and don't know what area to improve!
That's pretty much all I can suggest! Just keep practicing and don't overwork yourself! Having fun with the process is just as important as improving! Good luck with your journey :D
